Absolute and Relative Path options for the Source Media Folder
Choosing Absolute Path
When the Absolute Path option is selected, the entire path from the local drive (C: for this example) (C:\MAPWebAuthor_Tutorial\) will be set as the source media folder.

Choosing Relative Path
When the Relative Path option is selected, the selected directory (folder) will be set as the source media folder. In this example, the MAPWebAuthor_Tutorial folder is selected as the source media folder. The folder name is not displayed because Flash_Canada.ai is located within the selected source media folder (MAPWebAuthor_Tutorial).
One great advantage of choosing the Relative Path option is its flexibility. For example, if you have to move the files to another computer, just transfer the working directory and all its content (MAPWebAuthor_Tutorial folder). Open the map project and the linked information remains intact. This is especially useful when you have attribute information and image file links inserted into callout bubbles.
