Placemarks for PDF Maps
What is a placemark?
A placemark designates a position on the Earth's surface and can range from a simple point to a custom point that contains information and photos about a location. The PDF Maps app allows the import (and export) of custom placemarks to your maps so that you can find your favourite restaurants, hotels, shops and points of interest, import placemark sets from available servers and share placemarks with friends, family and colleagues. The PDF Maps app uses the convenient KML/KMZ file format to import/export and exchange placemark data between and amongst PDF Maps users.
Placemarks you create on your own device may also be shared with other users of PDF Maps via email, Dropbox and iTunes through the Export function within the PDF Maps app.
The files below contain some sample placemarks for specific areas. Download and open the files from your iOS device or your computer and see those placemarks appear on any map that covers that area.
