SHP2MIF Converter - Shapefile to MapInfo mid/mif
A DOS utility for converting Shapefile (arcview) to Mif/Mid files (mapinfo interchange format). The file is self-extracting and contains a readme file for it's use. The product is not supported, but has been tested extensively.
Sol Katz's GIS Translators
A single site with several DOS based translators/converters plus some other GIS utilities. These include: SDTS Converters (SDTS2MIF.EXE, ATTR2MID.EXE, SDTS2DXF.EXE, and SDTS2DLG) and a TIGER Convertor (TIGR2MIF.EXE).
Atlas Geo File (.AGF) Translators from ESRI
To help integrate Atlas GIS into the ESRI product family, ESRI provides freely downloadable Atlas Geo File (.AGF) translators. There are both an Atlas Geo File to ESRI Shapefile Translator and an ESRI Shapefile to Atlas Geo File Translator.

Open Geospatial Datastore Interface
OGDI is a new standardized access, transfer, and integration technology making its way into the GIS industry. Developed by LAS Inc. in Montreal, Qc, Canada with the help of the US and Canadian Military, OGDI provides a workable solution that allows transparent access to a wide variety of geospatial data, regardless of the native file format. What is extremely exciting about OGDI is that it is freeware. Users, application experts and software developers can obtain, for free, summary information, technical documentation, the source code and sample demonstration data via the website. OGDI is provided to the benefit of the GIS community.
ArcInfo Coverage to and from DXF
    This is an online translator developed by the University of Edinburgh. You must have your files on an internet accesssable server. The nice thing is that it's platform independant, all you need is a web browser.
DXF to Postscript
    A utility for converting DXF data into a format usable by both Illustrator and FreeHand. This saves layers, but it can also prune points from a polyline. Developed by Pat Dunlavey, and distributed as freeware. It is provided by the Society of Cartographers.
MapInfo-L Files
    Provides many useful translators to aid in moving files two and from MAPInfo.
Blue Marble Geographic Calculator
    Supports comprehensive data format translation and coordinate system conversion from AutoCAD DWG & DXF, MapInfo Table & MIF, and ESRI Shape format to MapInfo TAB & MIF, DXF (r13) and Shape. An evaluation copy is available for download.
ERSIS
ERSIS is a Queensland based, Australian owned company that provides: AIMI - A two way Arc/Info to MapInfo translator. Translates both ways and runs as a stand-alone Windows application. ZipIt
ZipIt is a shareware Macintosh program developed by Tom Brown that zips and unzips archives in a format fully compatible with PKZip for the IBM and zip implementations on other systems.
Bare Bones Software Inc.
