Symbols or graphic styles that I place in a file often duplicate multiple times in their palettes – when I place them in a file multiple times – i.e. Sym-Cpgr/ Sym-Cpgr1/ Sym-Cpgr2 etc is there any way to prevent this from happening.

    Hi Cynthia,

Thank you for your post! Does this happen when you are loading graphic styles or symbol libraries from their respective Illustrator panels? Can you please clarify what you mean when you say ‘place them in a file multiple times’?

    Let me know!

I copy paste map layers from one Map file to another (Paste Remember Layers option in Illustrator layer panel is unchecked) into a single layer of another Map file. Both file have the same Graphic styles. Graphic styles which were used in the map file which was being copied from are now shown in the Graphic Stlyes Panel twice- followed by a ‘2’ in the duplicate.
    Example:
    CA. Ca State Hwy
    CA. Ca State Hwy 2
If I were to do the copy paste again – the Graphic Styles Panel would show:
    CA. Ca State Hwy
    CA. Ca State Hwy 2
    CA. Ca State Hwy 3.
Other actions also cause this to happen – often resulting in a long list of Graphic Styles that are duplicated.

    Hello,

Would you be able to confirm the version(s) of MAPublisher that you’re running, along with the version(s) of Illustrator that you’re using?

Also can you confirm the method of copy/paste that you’re using? Are you using the MAPublisher ‘Copy MAP Objects From’ tool? Or just the copy/paste options from the ‘Edit’ toolbar?

    Let me know!
