I just manually imported 570 maps into 4 new collections, twice (2 devices). This was a drag. Why can’t I simply “import and add folder to collection” from the SD card? = One button. Saves me acting like a human macro. I see you already have a JSON/py option for those that can do this, but by the time I work out how to do this, I might as well do it manually (which I did). As an occasional user of Avenza, I would find the ability to do this via the App much more accessible than having to write in code or create external third-party files.April 25, 2018 at 10:08 am #10378
Thank you for your post, and I apologize for the frustration with manually importing maps. We do have an open request for multi-select to be an option on Android devices, as it is currently available on iOS devices making the import procedure far easier. If you can please send our Support team an email using the link here, we will be able to add your contact information to this open request, so that if and when we implement it, we can notify you.
If you have any other questions or problems, please feel free to contact our Support team directly.

I notice this feature still doesn’t exist. I have 900+ maps I want to import, and I am NOT doing them one by one. I want to be able to import the whole folder.September 26, 2018 at 11:32 am #15174
Thank you for your comment! Are you looking to import a .zip folder or a folder containing all of your maps located in an external/internal storage location?
You can import an entire folder or collection using an .avenzamaps file. There is a tutorial on how to create one available on the Avenza Maps website here.
Depending on where you’re importing the maps from (ie Dropbox, Google Drive etc) and which device you’re using (ie Android, iOS), there is the option to multi-select your maps and import them all at once as well.
Please let me know or contact the Support team directly on help.avenzamaps.com

I would second this (and third and fourth).
I have many Android devices I need to load 2-300 maps on.
I tried using an .avenzamaps file. It worked for two maps on my trial and then when I bumped it to 150 it crashed and never was able to load another map. It would either say the map is loaded (when it wasn’t) or just crashed. Over and over again.
