I am trying out the free version of the Android App for an Equestrian club who wishes to make maps. I am attempting to export a Track file from the USA Topo Maps App and import it as a layer into a PDF map that was provided by the local Forest Service Ranger. I have exported it as a GPX, KML and a KMZ file into the Screenshots folder where Avenza appears to be searching for it. The Layer import function is only seeing the KML and KMZ extensions. When I create the layer and attach it to a map for either the KML or KMZ files, it is not displaying. Is my approach sound? What might be the issue?

    Hi Laurie,

Thank you for your post, and my apologies for the delay in response.

Features imported into Avenza Maps must be in either the KML/KMZ format, or Shapefile (requires a Pro subscription). To import, depending on your device, you have several source locations available to you (device storage, iTunes File Sharing, Dropbox, URL, etc.).

I’ve attached articles below that outline the best practices for importing Map Features. If you are still having problems or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our Support team directly (help.avenzamaps.com) and they will be able to better assist you in getting this resolved.
