Any plans to add support for layers on GeoPDF files? USGS Topo maps have a “images” layer that is off by default when looking at the maps in Acrobat Reader, but is on when importing into Avenza Maps. If there is a way to turn layers in the PDF on or off, I can’t find it. This is what it looks like on my phone, vs in Acrobat reader on a PC.
The photo overlay is a nice feature, but it often makes reading the details on the map difficult.
Thank you for your post. We do have this feature filed with our developers, but at this time it is not in active development. I will add your comments to the ticket, however, so that they can review this request again!
In the interim, if there is anything else that we can help with please don’t hesitate to write a new post, or contact us via help.avenzamaps.com!
I have this same issue and just created an account to post about it. I want to use GeoPDFs downloaded from USGS-TNM but these maps are barely usable with the orthoimage overlay. Shouldn’t it be straightforward for Avenza Maps to enable control over layer visibility for these GeoPDFs? Almost two years on from your reply to Tom, are your developers ever going to address this?
Thank you for your post, and I understand your frustration.
This feature is still in the planning stages, as it requires some critical changes to the Map Viewer to support this. The good news here is that we are in the process of making these changes to the Map Viewer that will hopefully make this integration easier.
I have brought it to our Product Manager’s attention, and have added your details to the ticket.
If you have any other questions or problems please don’t hesitate to let me know!
Adobe released an update to Illustrator 2021 (v25.3) that includes native support for M1 Devices and Rotate Artboard functionality. Please note these features are not yet supported within MAPublisher at this time. See compatibility notes.
