This is something I asked about back in 2016. I don’t think it has been addressed yet so I’m going to ask again…

I frequently use the MAP World Location tool to grab lat/long coordinates and copy them to the clipboard so that I can quickly paste them into Google/Bing Maps satellite imagery and fact-check features. Usually, the maps I’m making are projected in UTM, so when I use this tool I ALWAYS have to switch the button from my projected coordinate system to “Geodetic Base” (NAD83) so that only the lat/long coordinates are copied to the clipboard. I know it is only one click to switch between the two options, but I’m wondering if there is anyway to change this so that I’m always copying lat/long coordinates to the clipboard by default? It would be nice if the tool remembered that I switched it once, and then for the rest of my session it would stay on the “Geodetic Base” instead of having to switch every time I want to fact-check a new location. Is this possible and maybe I’m missing something? Or if it isn’t, is it something that could be changed in a future update? Although copying to the clipboard with the projected coordinate system selected will copy both the projected and geodetic base coordinates (e.g. 631991.818602, 4832681.067300; -79.363683, 43.635413 [Geodetic]), this format cannot be understood by Google Maps, whereas pasting just the geodetic base coordinates works fine.

I like the fact that you can alt-click to skip the dialog and just copy the coordinates, but what is copied to the clipboard still has to be edited before pasting it into a Google Maps search.

It would be GREAT if I could just use the Map World Location tool to alt-click on the map and have only the lat/long coordinates copied to the clipboard.
