    Our QA and Development Teams are aware of this inquiry and a feature request has been filed for them to work on. Currently there is no timeline on when this will be updated on MAPublisher, and work is ongoing.

    Hi Clara!

    Thank you for your post! It sounds like the file may have been saved and exported with a transparent layer added to it. I suggest revisiting the file on Photoshop to verify if there is a transparent and remove it or replace it with non-transparent layer.     We currently do have a feature request filed for Avenza Maps integration with car navigation and entertainment platforms such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. At this time we are not compatible and our developers are working on in. Unfortunately, I do not have a timeline on a compatibility update.

    I have gone ahead and added your email to the request ticket. You will be notified when it is implemented in an updated version of the app via email.

    Hi There,

    When it comes to Huawei, Xiaomi, and Oppo phones – please be aware that the following phones could have potential issues in certain regions in the world. Unfortunately, it is currently unknown all of the regions where issues can occur, however we have received information that some users within China, Australia, and South America have issues with the Avenza Maps app on those devices.

    The reason for these issues is because Google Play Services cannot be used. The Avenza Maps app uses Google Play Services in the app, for the Avenza Map Store and other elements of the app as well.     Map files should be no larger than 10,000 pixels in either width or height. Avenza Maps is designed to work best with larger paper map print sizes, however, anything over 10,000 pixels can cause processing issues, and lead to issues on user devices.

    Hi There,

    Changing the color of the map into a monochrome or perhaps greyscale is currently not possible on the map in the app, while recording a track. That said, I have gone ahead and made a feature request for our Development and QA Teams to look into and investigate further. You will be notified for any updates on this feature request. Thank you for the new feature request as we look into its feasibility in a future released version of the Avenza Maps app!

    Hi Rockfireice,

    Thank you for your post, we understand your frustration.

    This feature is unfortunately still in the planning stages, as it requires some critical changes to the Map Viewer to support this. The good news is that we are in the process of making these changes to the Map Viewer that will hopefully make this integration easier.

    We do understand it has taken some time, and this due to our QA and Development teams planning and testing, to ensure the app is eventually updated with this feature working properly. I have also added your details to the ticket.

    Hi and thank you for posting! Welcome to the Avenza Maps app!

    To import a custom import map in the app, you should first make sure it is a georeferenced map in a supported map file format. Georeferencing can be done in GIS software such as our MAPublisher and Geographic Imager software. For more information on file formats and importing maps the following links are offered: Importing maps from custom locations on Android and Importing maps from custom locations for iOS.

    Hi Pete, thank you for your post. We do have this filed as a feature request with our development team, however, at this time there are no immediate plans to integrate with Apple CarPlay. We are in the early stages of developing Avenza Maps for CarPlay.
