    Hello Cynthia,

Thank you for contacting Avenza Systems Inc. I would suggest you follow the two-step workflow below to pull up all records that have all uppercase values in the #name field.

Create a new field and assign True/False values to records that are all in uppercase (or not):

    1. Open your MAP Attributes table from the ‘Properties’ section in MAPublisher toolbar (make sure to have the correct layer selected before you do this).
    2. From the bottom-right corner of the MAP Attributes window, select ‘Edit Schema’.
    3. From the bottom-left corner of the Edit Schema window, click on the green plus sign to add a new column.
    4. Give the new column a suitable ‘Name’ such as ‘UpperCase’ for example.
    5. Choose the column ‘Type’ as ‘String’ and change the size to ’10’ (or a suitable number for your case).
    6. Make sure ‘Visible’ box is checked on, and also check the ‘Derive value from expression:’ box on.
    7. At the end of the ‘Expression:’ box, click on the ‘Pencil’ icon to open the ‘Expression Builder’ window.
    8. Build the following expression in order to assign “True” or “False” values to records that are either all in uppercase or not:
    IF( #Name = UPPER(#Name), “True”, “False”)
    9. Click on ‘OK’ to create the new column and apply the expression.

Do a ‘Selection’ to pull up all the records that returned ‘True’ (aka. has all uppercase values in the #Name column):

    1. Open your MAP Selections window from the ‘Organization’ section in MAPublisher toolbar.
    2. From the bottom-right corner of the MAP Selections window, click on the plus sign to select ‘Create New MAP Selection’.
    3. Give your MAP Selection a name such as ‘UpperCaseRecords’ for example.
    4. Select ‘Attribute Filter’ for ‘Type’.
    5. Select your ‘Layer’.
    6. At the end of the ‘Expression:’ box, click on the ‘Pencil’ icon to open the ‘Expression Builder’ window.
    7. Build the following expression in order to select all the records that returned ‘True’:
    UpperCase= “True”
    8. Then click on ‘Save and Select’, which should select all the requested records for you.

Hope this helps your workflow! If you have any other questions or would like more customized help with your workflow, please feel free contact our support team via the following link: http://help.avenza.com/customer/portal/emails/new?b_id=13809

    Hello Nick,

Thank you for your feedback. I have filed your request to restrict importing duplicate maps with our developers. If you would like to contact our support team directly, we can add your contact information to the ticket and you will be contacted if the feature gets implemented in a future release.

Referring to the problem you’re encountering with ‘Processing paused. Tap to restart”, this is usually an issue if you’re trying to bring your maps in via an iTunes Restore. Please contact our Support Team using the following link: http://help.avenzamaps.com/customer/portal/emails/new and we will work closely with you to resolve this issue.

    Hi Mike,

Thank you for your post. You can share your location by dropping a pin where you are and then sending the coordinate information over to your colleague. Your colleague can then use the ‘Find by Coordinates’ tool to find your location.

    Send location information:
-Open the map you want to use within Avenza Maps
-Place the pointer over your location
-Tap on the pin icon on the bottom left corner of the screen
-This will bring up ‘Add Placemark’ page
-Tap on the ‘Location’ section, hard press the text to select and copy it

Now you can share the copied coordinate information via text messaging with your colleague. Ask them to copy the coordinate information
and go the map in Avenza Maps.

-Once on the map, tap on Settings icon – a wrench located at the bottom right corner
    -Select ‘Find by Coordinates’
-In the space given, paste the coordinate you forwarded and tap on ‘Search’

This will take your colleague to the location you sent. They can drop a pin at that location to remember the coordinates.

If you have any other questions, please contact our Support Team via help.avenzamaps.com and we would be happy to help further.

    Hello inkliizii1,

Thank you for your post. If your labels are embedded in a geospatial PDF, they will show up based on how your map was made. If you would like us to take a closer look at your map and provide you with suggestions, you can share it with us via help.avenzamaps.com.

However, as you mentioned, bringing in a KML file of your data and having all placemark labels display at once would be ideal. This is a feature our developers are looking into, and if it gets implemented you will be informed.

If you have any other questions or problems, please don’t hesitate to let us know, or contact our
    Support team directly through help.avenzamaps.com
