System Requirements

Prior to installing your MAPublisher Local Floating License for Windows, Mac or Linux servers, ensure that you have sufficient system resources as outlined below:

Windows Server computer

•  Windows 2000 with Service Pack 3, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10

•  Intel Pentium 3, 4 processor or better

•  1GB of RAM

•  300 MB of available hard-disk space

•  Valid TCP/IP network connection from license server to client computers

Mac Server computer

•  Mac OS X 10.4 or higher

•  1GB of RAM

•  300 MB of available hard-disk space

•  Valid TCP/IP network connection from license server to client computers

On the client computers

•  MAPublisher 10 or higher installed on the appropriate version of Adobe Illustrator

 

information IPV6 is not supported on either Mac servers or client computers.

Preparing for the License Server Installation

Download the Avenza_FloatingLicense_RLMv13.zip here.

The Avenza_FloatingLicense_RLMv13.zip installation package contains the following executables:

Package file

Reference file format extension

avenza.exe

The MAPublisher specific portion (service) of RLM

rlm.exe

The RLM license server

rlmutil.exe

A tool to get all the required information for the floating license

Extract Avenza_FloatingLicense_RLMv13.zip to a convenient location on your hard drive. This will be the folder from which the program will run.

Obtaining a License File for Avenza Products

To obtain a floating license file (MAPublisher.lic), send the following information to activation@avenza.com:

Machine ID of your server machine

Name of your server machine

IP address of your server machine

information Important Note: A new license file for the server machine must be obtained from Avenza for all new purchases of MAPublisher, MAPublisher LabelPro, MAPublisher FME Auto, or Geographic Imager.

Collecting required information (Windows)

1.Open the command prompt window (Start > Run, then type CMD).

2.Navigate to the directory where the rlmutil and other binaries are located.

3.To obtain the Machine ID, type rlmutil rlmhostid ether and press the Enter key.

4.To obtain the server name, type rlmutil rlmhostid host and press the Enter key.

5.To obtain the IP address, type rlmutil rlmhostid internet and press the Enter key.

Collecting required information (Mac or Linux)

1.Open a Terminal window (Application > Utility, then find Terminal).

2.Navigate to the directory where the rlmutil and other binaries are located.

3.To obtain the Machine ID, type ./rlmutil rlmhostid ether, and press the Enter key.

4.To obtain the server name, type ./rlmutil rlmhostid host, and press the Enter key.

5.To obtain the IP address, type ./rlmutil rlmhostid internet, and press the Enter key.
