Avenza Student Map Contest 2023

Are you proud of a map you’ve created in school and would like to share it with us? Enter the Avenza Student Map Contest 2023 to compete against other GIS and cartography students for a chance to win one of the prizes and have your work featured in our map gallery! A Grand Prize winner and two runners-up will be selected. The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2023.

Eligibility

The contest is open only to individuals who meet ALL of the following criteria:

• are the legal age of majority in their country, province, or state of residency, except for individuals who are residents of Crimea; Iran; North Korea; Russia; Sudan; Syria; the Province of Quebec, Canada, and where prohibited by national, state, provincial, or any other governmental laws or regulations;
• are currently a student at the post-secondary or graduate level at a recognized academic institution, university, or college; or have graduated from a post-secondary or graduate program at a recognized academic institution, university, or college since December 1, 2021;
• have submitted a map created using legally authorized Avenza software;
• have made a complete submission in accordance with the submission conditions within the Entry Period.

Employees and representatives of Avenza are not eligible to enter the contest. The Sponsor reserves the right to verify the eligibility of Entrants.

Prizes

The Avenza Student Map Contest will have a Grand Prize winner, a Runner-up winner, and a Second Runner-up winner.

• The Grand Prize includes an Amazon Gift Card valued at $500 USD (five hundred United States dollars), and a “software prize” which consists of a one-year student license for MAPublisher and a one-year student license for Geographic Imager.
• The Runner-up Prize includes an Amazon Gift Card valued at $250 USD (two hundred and fifty United States dollars), and a “software prize” which consists of a one-year student license for MAPublisher and a one-year student license for Geographic Imager.
• The Second Runner-up Prize includes a “software prize” which consists of a one-year student license for MAPublisher and a one-year student license for Geographic Imager.

How to Enter

Contest entries will be derived from each complete submission received by Avenza within the Entry Period. A complete submission consists of all required fields on the entry form.
