Geographic Imager Blank Panel Issue

Some Adobe Photoshop CS5 and CS6 users may be experiencing a blank panel issue in Geographic Imager, specifically from version 4.0 to 4.4.

PDF Maps Auto-detect Resolution When Importing Custom Maps

PDF Maps for Android now allows you to customize the resolution of custom maps added to your Map List. This is useful in instances where you want maps to be processed in high resolution to allow for more detail. By going to Settings > General Settings and scrolling to the Import Settings, you can have maps process at 72, 150 or 300 dpi. Depending on your usage, a higher resolution may not always be best, as larger maps can take longer to process and require more storage space.

Force Multiple Line Labels By Adjusting Text Attributes In MAPublisher

Single line label vs. multi-line label

There may be times when you want to have labels be multiple lines. Multi-line labels allow them to fit in tighter positions on the map. Currently, in MAPublisher LabelPro there's a rule to allow stacking up to 2, 3 or even 4 lines. However, this rule only "allows" stacking and doesn't "force" stacking. It is only meant to fit labels when there isn't enough space for a single line.

How Come I See A Windows SmartScreen When Launching MAPublisher Installer?

Some users may see a Windows SmartScreen warning when launching the MAPublisher installer downloaded from our website. This is due to a new and more secure certificate used by Microsoft to sign the MAPublisher app. The warning can be ignored and any future warnings should not appear as the certificate and the app gain reputation according to Microsoft, however, it may be seen for the next little while.

To continue to install MAPublisher, click More info then click Run anyway.

What To Do Before Updating MAPublisher And Adobe Illustrator

What should you do before updating either MAPublisher or Adobe Illustrator? The main answer is: check compatibility. However, we often receive common questions in Avenza Support as to why MAPubliser does not work after updating to the latest version of Adobe Illustrator CC. Here are a few notes that may help you out:

What Is The .pdfmaps File And How Does It Work?

What is the .pdfmaps file?

In addition to having access to more than 350,000 maps in the PDF Maps Store, you can also import your own geospatial PDF and GeoTIFF files into the PDF Maps app. If you have a large collection of maps and data, you may already know that loading all these files can be cumbersome and time consuming. Luckily, there's a better solution to do this. The .pdfmaps file was devised as a solution for people or organizations who wish to load large collections of maps and data without having to import them one at a time. Here's how it works.

Mac OS X Hidden Dialog Box Issue Fix

A usability issue was confirmed with MAPublisher 9.6.1 and Mac OS X. It happens at the operating system level. Fortunately, a solution is available.

Affected platforms

  • Mac OS X 10.11 (El Capitan)
  • Mac OS X 10.10 (Yosemite)

When multiple MAPublisher dialog boxes are open, the active dialog box may appear behind other inactive dialog boxes. As a result, the actual active dialog box is partially or fully hidden and no options can be selected or adjusted. Eventually, you may have to restart Adobe Illustrator.
