When georeferencing a map in Geographic Imager, there are two tools which can be used to check spatial accuracy: Validate and Show Image Extents Online. With Validate, click a point on the image and it will show the corresponding location on the web map service so that you can compare the difference between them. Show Image Extents Online will display a rectangle representing the spatial extent of the image on the web map.
If you launch Adobe Photoshop and then realize that extensions didn't load properly, including Geographic Imager, it may be due to a setting in Adobe Photoshop Preferences. Go to Edit > Preferences > Plug-Ins. Locate the ‘Load Extension Panels’ in the Filter and Extension Panels group. If it is unchecked, it prevents all extension panels from loading and the Window > Extensions menu is greyed out and prevents users from opening extension panels manually. When this preference is checked, the Geographic Imager panel will load on start-up.

Installing MAPublisher 9.8 on Both Adobe Illustrator CC 2015 and CC 2015.3 Simultaneously (32-bit, Windows only)
During development, Adobe did not change the class identification (CLSID) key for Illustrator CC 2015.3 (32-bit) and therefore it remained the same as CC 2015 (32-bit). These CLSID keys are (usually) unique and MAPublisher uses them to detect which versions of Adobe Illustrator are installed on a machine. However, due to these two versions having identical CLSIDs, MAPublisher 9.8 will only detect one version of Adobe Illustrator if both CC 2015 and CC 2015.3 are installed on the same machine.
Mac users have occasionally seen an issue where MAPublisher panels will display an unreadable font as shown in the image below.
Online services can be used to create high-quality maps without the need to download and maintain large spatial datasets or spend time designing base maps. In this post, we'll use two online sources to import data and create a map showing the potential energy generated from existing and proposed wind power projects in the state of Massachusetts.
Some Adobe Photoshop CS5 and CS6 users may be experiencing a blank panel issue in Geographic Imager, specifically from version 4.0 to 4.4.
PDF Maps for Android now allows you to customize the resolution of custom maps added to your Map List. This is useful in instances where you want maps to be processed in high resolution to allow for more detail. By going to Settings > General Settings and scrolling to the Import Settings, you can have maps process at 72, 150 or 300 dpi. Depending on your usage, a higher resolution may not always be best, as larger maps can take longer to process and require more storage space.
Avenza desktop applications, MAPublisher and Geographic Imager offer two options for the licensing system: Fixed license and Floating license.
