Trademarks and Usage Guidelines

Please read these terms carefully before using this site. Avenza’s trademarks and brands are Avenza Systems Inc. intellectual property and are important and valuable assets of the corporation. Trademarks must be used properly. Follow these guidelines for using Avenza’s trademarks and brands properly in all communications, documents and electronic messages.

Our Trademarks and Registered Trademarks

Avenza Maps, MAPublisher, Geographic Imager, MAPublisher LabelPro, MAPublisher FME Auto, MAPdata USA, and MAPdata Canada, including all associated logos, are trademarks or registered trademarks of Avenza Systems in Canada, the U.S. or other countries.

Correct Trademark Use

In text on any webpage, article or other form, the first reference to an Avenza trademark (e.g “MAPublisher”) should always be followed by the “®” or “™” symbol.

Correct: New features in MAPublisher® software were announced today.

Trademarks are used as adjectives to describe a generic noun, and should not to be used as nouns or verbs.

Correct: MAPublisher® software was used to create this map.

Incorrect: The image was enhanced using MAPublisher.

Trademarks shouldn’t be possessive or plural.

Correct: MAPublisher® software supports many GIS data formats.

Incorrect: MAPublisher’s support of many formats is impressive.

Usage Restrictions

• Do not incorporate Avenza trademarks or logos into your own product names, service names, trademarks, logos, or company names, and do not adopt marks or logos that are confusingly similar to Avenza trademarks and logos.
• Third-party use of Avenza logos requires written permission from Avenza. If you are interested in obtaining permission to use an Avenza trademark or logo, contact us.
• Do not use Avenza trademarks or logos on websites, marketing content, or other forms that may be deemed inappropriate, offensive, or misleading.
• Do not modify or create shortforms or acronyms of Avenza trademarks (e.g. MAPubliserGroupForum, MA-Publisher, etc.)
• Do not modify, scale, recolor, or redesign Avenza logos.

Third-Party Trademarks

Microsoft, Windows, and the Windows logo are trademarks, or registered trademarks of Microsoft Corporation in the United States and/or other countries.

Apple, Mac, iPhone, iPad, iTunes, and the Apple logo are trademarks, or registered trademarks of Apple Corporation  in the United States and/or other countries.

Adobe, Creative Cloud, Illustrator, Photoshop are trademarks, or registered trademarks of Adobe Systems Incorporated in the United States and/or other countries.
