IV Cumbre del Petróleo y Gas / Oil and Gas Summit 2021 – Colombia

About this event

The IV Oil and Gas Summit: “Socio-economic reactivation, a national commitment” is the most important event of the oil and gas industry in Colombia, which will bring together the main players in the sector in a 100% digital environment.

For four days, attendees will be able to participate in five virtual spaces: academic agenda, technical agenda, regional agenda, business fair and business conference. It is expected to have more than 3,500 participants.

This event is organized by the Petroleum Trade Union Committee (CGP), made up of the Colombian Association of Oil and Gas (ACP), the Colombian Chamber of Oil, Gas and Energy (Campetrol), the Colombian Association of Petroleum Engineers (Acipet), the Colombian Association of Petroleum Geologists and Geophysicists (ACGGP) and the Colombian Association of Engineers (ACIEM).

MAPublisher Training – Virtual (online) – April 2022

Overview

Are you new to MAPublisher® or want to refresh your skills? This hands-on training course introduces the essential components and capabilities of MAPublisher through practical applications of mapping techniques, data management, and workflows. It is instructor-led and a great start to becoming a proficient MAPublisher user. Learn how to import data, project data, style maps. No prior FME or GIS experience is required.

Who should attend?

  • GIS professionals who want to produce better quality maps
  • Mapmakers and cartographers incorporating GIS data to improve accuracy in their maps
  • New MAPublisher users who just purchased a license
  • Users who want to experience the latest features of MAPublisher

Training course details

  • This course takes place April 27-28, 2022, during 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern Time.
  • Hands-on training takes place at a training center classroom where Windows computers and all required software and training data are provided.
  • Attendees will learn the fundamentals of MAPublisher and learn how to use all major features. Attendees will also receive basic instruction on the use of Adobe Illustrator as it relates to MAPublisher and cartographic production. A basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator is recommended, but not required.
  • Attendees are encouraged to bring his or her own datasets. There will be some time during the end of the course to discuss these with an instructor.
  • Attendees that are Mac users may opt to bring his or her own Mac and software. Make sure to inform Avenza a week before training to setup the system properly for training.
  • Classes may be cancelled up to fifteen business days prior to the confirmed training date (depending on the number of reservations received).

Cost

MAPublisher training is $800 USD per person. Discounts are available to groups of three or more from the same organization and for returning students desiring a refresher or update.

Avenza User Conference 2021

The Avenza User Conference is a free, day-long virtual conference for map makers, GIS enthusiasts, and geospatial professionals worldwide who share a common interest in Avenza mapping technology. The Avenza User Conference 2021 will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM (EST).

The day will offer a mix of virtual sessions from presenters who will share their experience of using Avenza mapping products in their projects, mapping tips and tricks, product development updates from the Avenza team, and remarks from Ted Florence, Avenza President.

[Webinar] Avenza Maps: A Mobile Solution for Offline Mapping, Data Collection and Navigation in the Field

As part of GeoIgnite 2021, this workshop will offer a deep-dive into the Avenza Maps app, a mobile app where users can upload or access custom maps for offline navigation, way-finding, and data collection. The workshop will be composed of five modules covering the fundamentals of the app’s usage, as well as more advanced industry-relevant features. We will also provide a walk through of using the Avenza Map Store to share your maps, and a sneak peak at upcoming features to be released this year.

Bob Parry – Business Development Associate

Bob has been working with and helping create features in the Avenza Maps app and develops partnerships that complement the platform. He has a Hon. BA in Geography and Political Science from the University of Toronto and is an Applications Specialist graduate from Fleming College.

Tristan Lyttle – Product Operations Lead

Tristan has been responsible for managing many aspects of Avenza Maps, including forming new partnerships, building features, and growing the Map Store. He has a Hon. B.Sc. in Physical Geography from Brock University and a degree in Geomatics from Niagara College.

Michael Law – Marketing Manager

Michael is a GIS professional, cartographer, and author turned marketing specialist to drive engagement for Avenza products. He has a Hon. BA in Urban Geography from the University of Toronto and is a Cartographic Specialist graduate from Fleming College.

Enter our map competition for a chance to compete against other cartographers and mapping professionals and have your work featured in our map gallery. The competition consists of two categories: Open and Student, with two sets of exciting prizes. The deadline for submissions is December 3 (5pm EST), 2021.

Maps from all industries are encouraged to enter. Some of the various map themes are (but are not limited to): thematic, topographic, recreation and tourism, land and asset management, planning and design, natural resources, health care, analysis, education, economic and commerce, and public safety.
